Statewide Initiative
GMCS's statewide education and patient-advocacy initiative brings together patient navigation, public education, healthcare-professional education, digital resources, veteran and underserved-community outreach, research awareness, and nonpartisan policy education. The initiative is designed to help Georgia patients and caregivers navigate the state's medical cannabis program with clearer information, stronger community support, and better connections to trustworthy resources.
Why This Work Matters
Eight interconnected service areas — each connecting to existing GMCS programs and resources.
Free workshops, virtual programs, community education, educational materials, and patient-centered information to help Georgians understand the Medical Cannabis Patient Registry and their options.
Compassion in ActionHelping patients and caregivers understand the Medical Cannabis Patient Registry, prepare for healthcare appointments, locate provider resources, and connect with community support. GMCS provides navigation and education — not medical or legal advice.
Patient ResourcesResearch updates, patient perspectives, Georgia program information, provider guides, and credible scientific and regulatory resources for physicians, nurses, pharmacists, EMS professionals, students, and other healthcare workers.
Compassion in PracticeEducational videos, guides, email updates, webinars, and research information through GMCS-TV, the Policy Hub, and Compassion in Action — emphasizing digital accessibility for all Georgians.
GMCS-TVDedicated outreach serving Georgia veterans, active-duty military families, seniors, disabled individuals, rural communities, low-income families, and other underserved populations.
Valor in ActionPlain-language policy explainers, civic education, public-comment guidance, issue briefings, legislative education, and public-hearing information — maintaining 501(c)(3) nonpartisan safeguards throughout.
Advocacy in ActionSupporting patient-centered research, sharing research summaries, hosting listening sessions, and facilitating program evaluation to ensure GMCS programs reflect real patient experiences.
GMCS ResearchOrganizational capacity supporting program coordination, patient inquiries, volunteers, events, partnerships, outreach, communications, accessibility, and evaluation — the foundation that makes all other service areas possible.
