Patient-centered civic education starts with asking public officials and candidates where they stand on issues affecting patients, caregivers, healthcare, disability access, medical cannabis policy, and community health.
What Is Compassionate Candidate Georgia?
Compassionate Candidate Georgia is a nonpartisan GMCS civic-education initiative designed to invite candidates and public officials to participate in issue-focused conversations and questionnaires. Constituents, community members, and public officials may recommend an individual for outreach. A nomination means only that GMCS has been asked to invite that individual to participate. It does not constitute endorsement, approval, support, opposition, or a rating by GMCS.
Nonpartisan
The initiative invites participants across party lines based solely on their willingness to engage on issues affecting patients, caregivers, and communities.
Issue-Focused
Conversations and questionnaires focus on policy issues — patient access, healthcare, medical cannabis, disability access, and community health — not political affiliation.
Community-Driven
Any constituent, patient, caregiver, community member, organization, or public official may recommend someone for outreach. Nominations are internal leads, not public endorsements.
Transparent Process
GMCS uses the same standardized invitation and questionnaire process for similarly situated participants. Responses are published without scores, rankings, or GMCS ratings.
How the Process Works
Nomination Submitted
A constituent, patient, caregiver, community member, organization, or public official submits a nomination recommending that GMCS invite a candidate or public official to participate.
Internal GMCS Review
GMCS reviews the nomination, confirms public-office or candidacy information, and obtains appropriate public contact information. Nominations are never automatically published.
Standardized Invitation
GMCS sends the same standardized invitation used for similarly situated participants. The individual may accept or decline.
Questionnaire or Conversation
Participants who accept complete the same standardized educational questionnaire or participate in an issue-focused civic-education conversation. Responses are reviewed only for formatting, completeness, safety, and factual attribution.
Publication
With participant consent, responses are published substantially as provided. GMCS does not assign scores, rankings, stars, or approval designations. Participants are identified as Civic Education Participants — not as endorsed, approved, or recommended by GMCS.

Community Voices Matter
Patient-centered policy affects more than one part of the community.
Compassionate Candidate Georgia encourages informed conversations that may include patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, veterans, disability advocates, researchers, educators, nonprofit organizations, community leaders, and local professionals.
Businesses do not receive special political access because they are partners, sponsors, donors, or advertisers. Participation remains independent of financial support to GMCS.
