Patient Voice in Action:

Georgia Access Reality Check

Your Experience Is Data

Help Shape the Next Chapter of Georgia Patient Research

About This Study

This next phase of GMCS patient research builds on lessons from earlier Georgia patient studies and focuses more deeply on real-world access, affordability, accessibility, product quality and consistency, and program usability.

Georgia's medical cannabis program has grown significantly since its early years. Patients and caregivers now have more access than before — but significant barriers remain. This study is designed to document those barriers in patients' own words and experiences, so that GMCS can advocate effectively for the changes that matter most.

This is a new GMCS study. It is not the same as the completed 2026 Georgia Medical Cannabis Patient Study, which remains available as a completed research archive.

What We're Studying

Six research domains covering the full patient experience in Georgia's medical cannabis program.

Access

Distance to dispensaries, rural access, transportation, delivery need, and ability to obtain needed products.

Affordability

Product cost, cost preventing access, going without due to cost, travel costs, and certification/renewal costs.

Accessibility

Disability-related barriers, parking, entrances, waiting areas, mobility accommodations, and digital accessibility.

Product Quality & Consistency

Product consistency, labeling clarity, dosing information, Certificate of Analysis awareness, and packaging usability.

Program Usability

Patient Registry navigation, physician access, caregiver navigation, certification/renewal, and trusted information.

Patient Experience

Quality-of-life experience, patient-reported outcomes, stigma, healthcare-provider communication, and employment/housing concerns.
